Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca) is a very common condition. Causes of dry eye could be wind, dry air insufficient tear production, medications, environmental factors, hormonal imbalance, metabolic disorders, vitamin A deficiency and damage to the tear glands from inflammation or radiation.

Dry eye syndrome can also be caused by mineral deficiency and acidification of the body, which, in turn, weaken the immunity, connective tissue, hormonal system and disturb metabolism.

Even though we seem to receive enough minerals in our food, not all of the minerals may reach the cells.

The use of homeopathic remedies and Schuessler salts is a good way to compensate for this mineral deficiency in a natural way and to treat dry eye syndrome.

Some Tissue Salts suggestions for dry eye syndrome:

Too much sugar, white flour, meat and sausage cause acidity in the body. Not neutralised acids end as“hazardous waste” in the connective tissue.

Natrium Phosphoricum 6x. It stimulates the metabolism of fat and sugar degradation.

Toxicity of the body (poor diet, intake of medication) means that there are not enough mineral salts present in the body. Toxins remain in the connective tissue and bind water, resulting in dry eye syndrome and water retention in the tissues.

Kalium Sulphuricum 6x, Natrium Sulphuricum 6x, Natrium Phosphoricum 6x

Digestion problems can be also linked to dry eye syndrome. A lush diet and medication can burden our liver, pancreas and intestines causing metabolic blockage. To accelerate the metabolic processes and give the digestive organs new we can consider

Kalium Muriaticum, 6x Kalium Sulfuricum 6x and Natrium Sulfuricum 6x.

The eyes are red, burning and dry. The first stage of inflammation. Non-chronic condition.                                   Ferrum Phosphoricum 12x (take hourly for a day or two).
